We’ve designed various books on the art of David Hammons since 2008. Day’s End was completed in 2021, and The Whitney subsequently asked us to design this companion volume, working closely with then-outgoing Director Adam D. Weinberg. The modest trim size allows the book’s featured writing and photo essays to reveal this large-scale artwork’s enigmatic nature in an intimate way.
